His surgeons won’t let him play ice hockey anymore because of the complexity of the implanted prosthetic in his leg, but he got around that by joining a sled hockey team! He also loves to sing, play jokes on those he loves, and be with his friends. He also helps kids in the hospital with his backpacks that he makes up for newly diagnosed kids. Up until three weeks before her fourth birthday, Madeline was a completely normal and amazing child who loved going to school, being with her friends, singing and dancing nonstop, splashing in puddles, balloons, being silly, and her family, drawing them over and over in pictures. Everywhere she went she spread joy and kindness and loved collecting flowers and leaf bouquets to give to her mom. Most of all, she was the proudest big sister and loved her little brother and was always gentle with him as she showered him with hugs, kisses and songs. However just before she turned four, her whole life turned upside down and inside out when she was diagnosed with an aggressive, malignant and inoperable brain tumor. Quickly the tumor took away the ability to do all the things she loved to do. She fought hard, but two short months later, she was gone. Cancer took many things away from Madeline, including the ability to walk and dance and sing- but they never stopped her from expressing her love for her family, her life, and especially her baby brother. She is forever four years old.
