In 2012 my daughter Hailey Steward was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) after months of being in and out of the hospital! Our world changed before we knew what was wrong. Miss Hailey was 5 years old getting ready for elementary school and in a split second all of our dreams went from enjoying these years to helping our daughter survive the effects of cancer, the side effects, the emotional roller coaster ride, and all her fears. When she finally stopped all treatments after 2 1/2 years we thought we could finally get back to normal or somewhat normal. After 10 months I was just starting to feel a little at ease then after a routine check up we found out it came back with vengeance. During our journey we would do things to try to pay it forward in anyway possible to make a difference in lives of families like ours! Raising money for our local children’s cancer clinic, iPads for our local children’s hospital, raising money for other non profits. To even starting a challenge to help purchase refrigerators for all 30 rooms at our children’s hospital. That’s when I knew we had a mission a calling and it is to help families like ours in anyway possible! With emotional support, financial support. Even educating others with what we know and maybe taking our personal knowledge and doing everything and anything possible to help families like ours through the hardest part of their journey with Childhood Cancer.
